There's concern over policing levels in Borrisokane.
The locally based sergeant is being transferred this week, reducing the level of Gardaí at the North Tipperary station to just four – down from 9 several years ago.
Local Independent Councillor Joe Hannigan raised the issue at this week's meeting of the county council where he called on officials to contact both the area Superintendent and the Justice Department about the situation.
He says the reduction in numbers will have huge implications for the area.
