Coalition government talks continue

Teams from both parties have returned to Trinity College for negotiations, hoping to reach a deal over the weekend.

Fine Gael has again said progress is steady, but that there is no deal unless a full package can be reached.

Fianna Fáil's Michael McGrath says issues like housing and childcare have still to be agreed on

Meanwhile, Sinn Féin's Mary Lou McDonald, says a decision on government formation should have been made weeks ago

The party's Deputy Leader claims it's disgraceful that Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil have spent weeks 'shadow boxing' with each other.

Deputy McDonald also defended Sinn Féin's decision not to enter government unless they were the largest party.

She said they won't play 'make believe' by doing a deal with parties that have very different political views.
