It follows confirmation of funding for the project from the Office of Public Works.
€13,500 has been allocated under the Non Coastal Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Studies Scheme.
Local Labour councillor Fiona Bonfield says the works at Clonsingle will be welcome news to local residents.
