The service had been running since 1964 but due to financial reasons could not continue after the summer break this year.
A group of locals in the town have been trying to get the much needed service back up and running.
They will be back in action from Thursday next.
One of those behind the efforts is Eddie Reade – he told Fran Curry on Tipp Today the service is more than just about providing meals.
