Calls for laws to tackle uninsured drivers

Figures released from the Motor Insurers Bureau and Insurance Ireland have revealed that around 6 percent of drivers across the country are not covered…and claims by un-insured drivers are on the increase.

Due to the rise in claims by un-insured drivers, the Irish Brokers Association says it's costing the motorist an average of €35- €40 in extra premiums to cover the claims

Brian McNellis from the Irish Brokers' Association says more legislation is needed to address the problem and that our current laws don't do enough.
