Frances Fitzgerald this week refused to commit to continued funding for Operation Thor which has proved successful in tackling the spate of rural crime in the Premier County and across the country.
The Minister said the money for the scheme is only scheduled to continue until the end of the year.
Local Independent TD Mattie McGrath says the Justice Minister needs to clarify the situation.
