Significant damage was done to the property with the canteen, offices and other parts of the premises destroyed in the blaze.
As a result of the incident there's a change to tomorrows usual sheep sale – owners are asked to bring their stock to Cahir Mart from where they will be brought by lorry to Fermoy Mart to be sold there.
It's hoped the mart will be able to operate its normal sales next week.
Cahir Mart is part of the Cork Marts group – Chairman PJ English visited the site this morning – he says they hope the mart will be able to operate its normal sales next week.
