The Thurles councillor was selected at the party's convention in May…however a few weeks later senior officials decided to add two more names to the ticket…a move which came in for strong criticism from the former farming representative.
Councillor Cahill and his supporters personally confronted party head- quarters amid concerns that Fianna Fáil will fail to take any seat due to the three-candidate strategy.
However, Jackie Cahill now says that the decision has been made and now they must move on to ensure that the party gets a seat in Tipperary.
