Roscrea Chamber of Commerce has unveiled plans to help new businesses get a head start.

The group has lodged a planning application with Tipperary County Council for a development on the outskirts of the town.

The plans submitted by Roscrea Chamber of Commerce are for starter units to help new businesses get off the ground.

In preparing their plans the business group has had discussions with both the Local Enterprise Office and Tipperary County Council.

They have also carried out a feasibility study and examined possible locations for the project.

The Chamber has ultimately selected a site on the Old Dublin Road in Roscrea which is close to the Leisure Centre.

A planning application has been lodged with the local authority for a two storey building containing commercial units on the ground floor and offices on the first floor.

Planning permission has already been granted for a crèche on a nearby site.

A decision is due by February 6th next.
