Locals and business people in Roscrea have raised concerns about the loss of 12 parking spaces from the square.
Funding for the development of Market Square in the town has been broadly welcomed.
However, it’s thought that footfall may decrease, and that businesses could lose out in the long term should the spaces be lost.
Councillor Shane Lee says the spaces in the square are needed.
