Bus service secured for a number of villages in South Tipperary.

Major concerns had been expressed that large parts of South Tipperary would be without a service when Bus Éireann implements planned changes to its Route 7 Expressway service.

This Cork – Dublin route presently travels through South Tipperary with stops at a number of villages and towns.

The revised X7 will be introduced on June 28th – it will go directly from Mitchelstown to Clonmel and on to Kilkenny and Dublin.

As part of these changes the National Transport Authority in conjunction with Bus Éireann will introduce a revised Route 245 timetable.

Mayor of the District Martin Lonergan has welcomed the news that this will include the villages of Ardfinnan, Clogheen and Ballyporeen.

It will provide five daily services from Clonmel to Cork via the three villages – the 245 will operate 3 daily services at weekends and bank holidays.

This follows on from the planned introduction of a shuttle service from Carrick to Clonmel to allow intending passengers link up with the revised Dublin connection.
