Beara – Breifne Way takes major step in Tipperary

A marketing plan for the Beara – Breifne Way is being officially launched in Toomevara today.

The walk closely follows the route taken by O'Sullivan Beara in the early 1600's from Bantry to Leitrim.

North Tipperary Deputy Noel Coonan says today marks the next stage of this exciting tourism walkway and cycleway with around 70 miles of the route passing through the county.

The Fine Gael says the initiative will promote our local heritage and attract many tourists to County Tipperary and generate revenue in the locality.

Matt Ryan of the Ormond Way Association says while they have already received €150,000 from North Tipperary Leader Partnership another €130,000 is still needed.
