Brian Goggin – the former boss of Bank of Ireland – is before the banking inquiry this morning.
He says he always endeavoured to do his job to the best of his ability, and highlighted that Bank of Ireland was always more conservative than other lenders – even when the crisis happened.

But Mr Goggin says the taxpayer had to bail out the bank and for that he's apologising.
