Attitudes to rape in Ireland need to change – Varadkar

The Taoiseach says controversial comments made by broadcaster George Hook about rape are indicative of attitudes in Irish Society.

Leo Varadkar says he strongly disagrees with the remarks which have prompted a massive backlash against the Newstalk host.

Mr Hook was today suspended from his position amid a continuing public outcry.

Speaking this morning Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said attitudes towards rape need to change.
