Biogas Environmental Tipperary East Limited had applied to South Tipperary County Council for a single wind turbine at Ballincurry, Killenaule.
The planned 126 metre high structure was not granted permission by the local planning department.
Those behind the application have now taken their case to the state planning appeals board who are due to rule on the matter in early September.
