Angling club gets go-ahead for wildlife amenity

Clodiagh Anglers Association plans are for a duck pond along with a bird pen enclosure at Roskeen, Drombane.

The bird pen would be used to rear pheasants, ducks and partridges for eventual release into the wild.

The group say the pond – which is on a one acre site – would be used for fishing for the physically disabled and those with special needs.

Approval has also been granted for a new entrance, access roadway, walkway and car park area.

The site is within 400 metres of the start of the Birchill Nature Trail National Loop Walk.
