Anger over unmarked Templemore speed van

They claim an unmarked speed camera van has been targeting an area near Templemore with some saying it was akin to shooting fish in a barrel.

A number of motorists have racked up between 6 and 9 penalty points in a matter of hours on the stretch of road at Clonmore.

Speaking on Tipp Today local Fianna Fail Councillor John Hogan says the people involved are good law abiding citizens.

Meanwhile the state of Tipperary's rural roads was raised in the Dáil chamber this lunchtime.

The Tainaiste insisted that motorists in the county will see an improvement in their national and secondary routes under the Capital Investment Plan.

Minister Francis Fitzgerald was responding to local TD Michael Lowry who said that his constituents are deeply frustrated by the situation and demanded clarity on when exactly extra funds would be provided

While clearly accepting the points made by Deputy Lowry, Minister Fitzgerald insisted that people in Tipperary will see the positive impact of the Capital funding.
