Anger over delays in Templemore Flood Relief Scheme

The 8 million euro project has been in the pipeline for several years, with plans going on public display three different times.

In March 2015, a public consultation period was held, while in January of this year it was confirmed that the money for the scheme was ring fenced and would not be directed elsewhere.

The issue was raised at the monthly meeting of the Thurles-Templemore municipal district, where council officials said they've had no update from the OPW about when the work would start.

Fianna Fail's Michael Smith says it's concerning that no progress has been made.
