12 confirmed dead in London tower block fire

London Firefighters have worked through the night trying to bring a blaze at an apartment complex under control.

More than 24 hours after the fire took hold at Grenfell Tower dozens of people remain unaccounted for.

12 people have been confirmed dead – however that figure is expected to rise.

The 24-storey building recently underwent an 9 and-a-half million euro refurbishment.

The British Prime Minister Theresa May has paid tribute to the victims involved in the blaze.

Meanwhile, a man suspected of posting pictures of a victim of the tower block fire in west London online has been arrested.

Images apparently showing a partially covered body from the scene were uploaded yesterday.

Police say a 43-year-old man’s being questioned on suspicion of sending malicious communications and obstructing a coroner.
