Concern that Hospital unit will not be delivered on time

A Tipperary Deputy has expressed concern that the promised modular unit for South Tipp General Hospital will not be delivered on time.

On a visit to the facility last week, Health Minister Simon Harris announced that the project was going to tender with funding secured.

Once operational, the unit will proivde an extra 40 beds for the hospital.

But Independant TD Mattie McGrath says he has concerns that the unit will not be delivered on time.

Deputy McGrath says he is worried that the current pace taken by the HSE in relation to the project is too slow and feels the process should be further than it is at present.

He told Fran Curry on Tipp Today that while he hopes it can happen, he can’t see how it can be delivered on time
