The proposal to bring natural gas to Nenagh has taken a huge step forward.
Minister of State Alan Kelly has confirmed that Gaslink has submitted the Nenagh project to the Commission for Energy Regulation for decision.
A decision on the project, which is worth well in excess of €20 million in energy savings to the town in its first 5 years, will now be made within 3 to 6 months.
According to Alan Kelly it's actually being submitted ahead of their time schedule and it is now down to the Regulator to make a determination.
The Nenagh Gas Committee which has driven this project is made up of key Nenagh industry representatives, North Tipperary Council officials and Minister of State Kelly,
