The swing bridge connecting Lorrha and Portumna has reopened to road traffic at lunchtime.
Mechanical difficulties forced the temporary closure of the N65 route at the bridge for a 90 minute period until 12.30 this afternoon.
Galway County Council says the road has since reopened to road traffic.
However, boat traffic won’t be able to pass through the bridge until further notice.
