Surprise has been expressed that University Hospital Limerick has passed an inspection by the Fire Officer.

Concerns have been expressed for some time that overcrowding in the Emergency Department of the hospital which serves North Tipperary is a fire hazard.

Councillor Seamie Morris had raised the issue at a number of local authority meetings following which an examination was conducted.

The Nenagh based councillor is adamant the situation at the hospital is not safe.
