Eight of the 26 teachers at the Presentation Primary School on Greenside in Carrick on Suir are to go before the start of the next school year.
None of the eight losses are retirement related – all are said to be withdrawal of posts from the 400 pupil school.
Deputy Seamus Healy says while the school will be appealing the decision, pressure must be brought on the Education Minister from other sources including all Oireachtas members.
