Rape case against Julian Assange dropped

A rape claim against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been dropped.

The 45-year-old has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since 2012 claiming political asylum.

Sweden’s now putting an end to a seven year stand-off.

But the country’s director of public prosecutions Marianne Ny says it might still not be completely over.

Meanwhile, Mr. Assange can still be arrested by British Police if he leaves the embassy.

Scotland Yard says it’s obliged to issue an arrest warrant because he previously skipped bail.
