Tipp hospitals among busiest in country

There’s been a significant increase in the number of people on trolleys at hospitals across the country.

At University Hospital Limerick, which serves North Tipp, Limerick and Clare, there are 43 people on trolleys – 41 of those are in the Emergency Department.

That’s up on yesterday’s figure of 29.

Meanwhile, there are 22 patients without a bed in South Tipp General in Clonmel – which is also up from 13 yesterday.

University Hospital Waterford is the busiest hospital in the country today with 44 people in need of a bed.

According to the INMO, there are 448 people on trolleys in the country’s hospitals this lunchtime – a jump of 100 on yesterday’s figures.
