Weather warning issued as multi vehicle crash closes M7

The Road Safety Authority is warning motorists to take care this afternoon after Met Eireann
issued a weather warning for hailstones.

This follows a multi vehicle crash on the M7 near Nenagh this morning which was caused by weather conditions

The M7 was closed near Nenagh was closed for a time this morning following the multi-vehicle crash.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash on the Northbound lane between J24 Toomevara and J23 Moneygall.

The crash occured followed a heavy hail shower.

No one was seriously injured in the incident.

The Road Safety Authority has issued an appeal to motorists to drive with care following a weather warning from Met Eirinn warning of heavy hailstone showers this afternoon.

That warning is in place until 3pm.

They are advising motorists to reduce speed in affected areas and ensure that cruise control is switched off and avoid any sudden braking.
