A second grass-roots Fianna Fail member has abandoned the party….citing disillusionment with the way the organisation is run.
Goatenbridge man Martin Lonergan has announced his intention to run as an Independent candidate in the upcoming local elections in th Cahir-Clonmel area, leaving Fianna Fail after 15 years.
It comes a day after sitting Nenagh town councillor Tommy Morgan also quit the party to support Independent Councillor Hughie McGrath in his campaign.
Fianna Fail will hold its selection convention this evening for the Nenagh area at a meeting in Dolla.
