Varadkar defends lack of women in cabinet

The Taoiseach says he’d include more women in his cabinet – if there were more women in the Dáil.

Leo Varadkar says the number of women holding ministerial office is in line with the number of women available to choose from.

He’s been criticised for naming only seven women among the 34 appointees he’s chosen since becoming Taoiseach.

But he says he’s limited in who he can choose.
