US police continue investigation in shooting of Tipperary native.

A Garda from County Tipperary remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being shot twice during a botched mugging in the United States.

30 year old Brian Hanrahan from Killenaule was on holiday in New Orleans with his father when he was attacked.

The father of one – who is stationed in Newcastle West in Limerick – received gunshot wounds to his lower back and leg.

The suspect fled the scene on foot –  New Orleans police say the investigation is ongoing.

It's understood arrangements have been made to fly Garda Hanrahan's wife, Emma, and their two-year-old daughter to New Orleans.
