Almost 450 people are on trolleys at hospitals across the country – however the number of patients without a bed at Tipperary's main hospital has fallen since yesterday.
According to the INMO there are 29 people in need of a bed at South Tipp General – down from 42 on Wednesday.
University Hospital Limerick – which provides Emergency Department cover for North Tipperary – is the most overcrowded with 41 people in need of a bed.
University Hospital Galway is next with 34 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards.
