Tusla row deepens

Jim O'Callaghan insists he told the Justice Minister about the involvement of the child and family agency a day before she claims she found out.

He also urged her at the meeting to expand the terms of reference of  the Commission of investigation.

The scandal has led to a disagreement over who knew what, when.

But Deputy O'Callaghan is adamant he told the Justice Minister before she found out from media reports.

Sinn Féin will this morning publish a motion of no confidence in the Government.

The party is seeking support from Fianna Fáil and from opposition TDs for the vote, which will be held in the Dail this week.
