Planning permission has been granted for a hostel type development in Cashel.
The proposals lodged by Birr based Thor Design & Management on behalf of Michael Minogue were for the change of use of six existing apartments at Bank Place in the town.
This would entail the property being re-designated from residential to commercial.
Tipperary County Council approved the plans subject to two conditions including that the development would be used for short-term tourist accommodation only.
