Tory MPs begin vote on new leader

In the UK conservative MPs start the process of choosing the next British Prime Minister today.

They'll keep voting in the Tory leadership contest until five candidates are whittled down to two – with party members having the final say by the 9th of September.

Sitting Home secretary Theresa May's the frontrunner – however BREXIT campaigner Boris Johnson has given the UK's Energy Minister Andrea Leadsom his backing.

The first results are due around seven o’clock this evening.
