A Nenagh man has been jailed for his part in a foiled burglary at an elderly woman's home near Athlone.
Joseph Toohey with an address in Cormack Drive, Nenagh was the getaway driver of the car used in the attempted raid on the 93 year olds house.
When spotted by a local guard the 37 year old drove the vehicle at him, forcing Garda Steven Connolly to jump out of the way.
At Athlone District Court yesterday Joseph Toohey had 9 months added to the 14 month sentence he is already serving.
