Tipperary man killed in tragic accident

A well known horse trainer in Tipperary has died following a kick in the head by a horse yesterday.

56 year old Tom O’Dwyer was walking with his daughter, a renowned showjumper, and their horse in Ballintaggart when the incident happened.

Local Councillor Imelda Goldsboro says news spread yesterday afternoon of the tragic accident.

The incident occurred at around 12 o clock yesterday afternoon.

It’s believed he was struck by a horse, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post mortem, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating.
