M.I.T has chosen MSD's plant at Ballydine near Kilsheelan as it's first Irish partner for an engineering programme.
Site lead at MSD in Ballydine Ger Carmody says the eight international graduates from Asia and the US will work on specific projects while they are in Tipperary.
The link up between MSD's Tipperary plant and MIT could also have a spin-off for students in the south east.
Given the company's links with Waterford Institute of Technology, Ger Carmody hasn't ruled out extending those ties with M.I.T.
