Tipp FM Road Safety Campaign gets underway today.

The initiative, which is being run in co-operation with Tipperary Gardaí, aims to highlight the importance of road safety across the Premier County.

17 people lost their lives on the county's roads in 2014 while so far this year, 2 road users have been killed in Tipperary.

Assistant Commissioner for the South East Region Jack Nolan says that while some areas of driver behaviour, like seat belts and the use of mobile phones has improved in Tipperary, speed is still an issue.
