Tipp farmers need more than Basic Payments and Greening

The Department of Agriculture has confirmed they will continue to make payment runs twice weekly over the coming weeks.

Former ICMSA President and current Tipperary TD, Jackie Cahill says the money will be very useful to farmers in the Premier County who are struggling to pay bills, and keep their farms solvent.

However, he doesn't believe it will not address the fundamental issues affecting farm families, and rural communities, as Irish farmers are at a huge disadvantage to their mainland Europe counterparts.
