Tipp escapes major damage in Storm Eva

High winds and heavy rain battered the country yesterday evening with counties Cork, Kildare and Wicklow worst affected.

Tipperary escaped the worst of the storm, while there were a number of fallen trees in the Clonmel area, most have now been cleared by the council.

However, Gardaí are advising people to be careful on the roads this morning as there may still be trees and other debris down on more rural routes that may not have been reported.

56 ESB customers in Ardfinnan are without power this morning due to storm damage, ESB crews are working to reconnect the households…the estimated time for the restoration of power is lunchtime.
