Therese McGowan, mother of Pogues front man Shane McGowan died when her car collided with a wall at Ballintoher near Nenagh yesterday afternoon.
She was the sole occupant of the car. The road was closed for a time to allow for a forensic collision examination but has now fully reopened.

Nenagh garda who are investigating the incident are appealing to any witnesses to contact them on 067-50450.
Mrs McGowan is the first person to lose their life on the country's roads in 2017.
Local representatives have expressed shock and sadness over her death and have appealed for privacy for her family to allow them to grieve.
