There are renewed calls for the library in Tipperary town to open on Saturdays.
Currently it operates Monday to Friday, but locals have been questioning why they cannot use its facilities at the weekend.
It comes following the news that during April and May this year, the new Library issued 7,100 books – which is an increase of 97% on the same period in 2017.
Councillor Michael Fitzgerald says the demand is there for opening hours on a Saturday.
