Thousands expected in Killaloe today

Thousands of people are expected in Killaloe later today to pay their respects to Anthony Foley.

Axel – as the Munster head coach was known to rugby fans near and far – died suddenly in Paris last weekend.

The community of Ballina – Killaloe on the shores of Lough Derg are still reeling from the shock passing of the popular local man.

The 42 year old was a legend of Munster and Irish rugby having played 62 times for his country.

His remains will repose in St Flannan's Church in Killaloe from 1 o'clock this afternoon until 8.30.

Tomorrows Funeral Mass will take place at midday in St Flannan's.

A French coroner's report found the 42 year old died from a lung condition brought on by a heart disorder.

Over a thousand people turned out to pay tribute to the rugby legend last night when his body was returned home from France.

Hundreds of rugby fans lined the streets outside Thomand Park in Limerick as a mark of respect to the Clare man.
