Mr. Halawa has been incarcerated in Egypt for over 3 years after being detained as part of a wave of arrests during a military coup in the country in 2013.
He has not been charged with any crime, and his mass trial has been postponed 16 times.
Independent TD, Paul Murphy, who is part of the delegation, said the group will be telling President Sisi that Egypt-Ireland relations may suffer if there is no progress on Ibrahim Halawa's release.
