SuperValu remains the largest supermarket in Ireland

The next most popular is Tesco which has 22.2 per cent of the market share.

While Dunne Stores is just behind with just over a fifth of Irish customers shopping there.

Cut price chains Lidl and Aldi round out the top five, with over 11 and 10 per cent market share each.

It also appears we're heading to the shops more often, but buying less each time, with the average trip now costing 21 Euro and 60 cent.
