It's after the official budget documents failed to detail when the various increases would take effect.
Labour leader Brendan Howlin says an increase from the end of March would only be the equivalent of €3.75 a week across the year.
But Enda Kenny says the matter will be cleared up when legislation to increase the rates is published in two weeks.
