South Tipp overcrowding numbers stay steady

The number of people being treated on trolleys or overflow areas of wards at Tipperary's main hospital remains unchanged today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation overcrowding problems have once again resulted in 27 patients who have been admitted from the Emergency Department at South Tipp General in Clonmel are still without a bed on a ward.

However the situation is even worse at University Hospital Limerick which has more than doubled from 17 yesterday to 35 today, which is the highest figure in the country.

Nationally there are 298 people being treated on trolleys and overflow areas on already full wards.
