There are twelve people on trolleys awaiting admission to South Tipperary General Hospital today.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there are 289 patients across the country in a similar situation.
Worst hit is Dublin's Beaumont Hospital with 36 while Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda has 32.
There are 10 people awaiting admission at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick and 9 at Waterford Regional.
