Significant overcrowding at hospitals

Hospitals serving the Premier County are once again among the busiest in the country.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 401 patients without a bed at hospitals across the country today.

University Hospital Limerick accounts for 43 of these while at South Tipp General in Clonmel there are 25 people on trolleys in corridors or in overflow areas of wards.

Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded today with 43 patients waiting for a bed.
