Seven remain hospitalised following Carlow crash

A 42 year old man was killed in the two car collision on Saturday.

Two men, aged 33 and 36, were airlifted to Waterford University Hospital – while two other men, aged 12 and 33, along with three women, aged 46, 50 and 80, were taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny following the serious collision on Saturday.

All seven people are described as being in a serious condition.

The crash happened at around 5pm when two cars collided on the Old Bagnelstown-Carlow Road at Ballybannon. 

A 42 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem was carried out yesterday.

A 46 year man who was also involved in the incident was miraculously uninjured. 

Gardaí have a launched a full investigation into the crash.
